John Brown is a murderer. He made an awful decision for how to free the slaves. I don’t think it was just to start such a riot. It was unfair for his children since they must have been pressured by their father to fight with him. It would’ve been better if Brown had gone to a plantation with various slaves and secretly at night helped the slaves escape in a nonviolent manner. He is crazy! He said god told him to murder people. John Brown is a psycho with a gun. John Brown is a terrible role model. Don't model yourself after a murderer.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you danny. I see Josh's point but if you think about it, they could have gotten their way with no violence, but with this they didn't even get their goal.
ReplyDeleteIf you used peaceful methods, his voice would not be out there, and he would not be heard. Freeing slaves nonviolently was nearly impossible. He would be caught indefinitely. Also, if his sons were being pressured they would not have fought the way they did. They strongly believed in freeing slaves just like any sane person would have. He was going and fighting people who were not guilty, and that had slaves. That was an awful thing to do! He had to do it this way, because if he went a peaceful route he would have been caught and no one would hear his voice. He would probably be killed or sent to jail without doing anything. He died for a good cause and had every right to go and express himself this way.
