Was it Worth the Cost?
I do not believe that the benefits of new technologies from industrialization were worth the costs. According to the poster “Making Human Junk” by Lewis Wickes Hine, When working in these factories the children get no wages and no education and they end up as “junk”. This is not worth the cost because the children are going to have “no future”. In the article of “Accident Report” by Crystal Eastman, It tells a story of 526 men were killed by work-accidents in a year. It also talks about how 70% of the men that were killed are skilled laborers. Having this many people get killed is unacceptable. In the picture of the “Factory of Smoke” by Detroit Publishing Company , the smoke is from the Factory Smokehouse which is polluting the environment. In conclusion I do not believe that the benefits of new technologies from industrialization were worth the cost.
